Harrods, the world’s most famous department store is also within comfortable reach. Here you will experience ‘pure retail theatre’, whether buying a few groceries at the delectable food hall, enjoying a cup of tea or spoiling yourself with some of the finest designer items on offer throughout the store. Harrods also has a programme of events throughout the year, including previews, celebrity appearances and its popular Christmas parade

Harvey Nichols

Since its humble beginnings in 1813 as a linen shop on the corner of Knightsbridge and Sloane Street, Harvey Nichols has progressed to selling luxury goods from its present premises in the 1880s. Today it is a favourite stomping ground for well-off food and fashion lovers alike. There are eight floors offering anything from superior homeware, fashion and beauty ranges to an entire fifth floor dedicated to food and restaurants.

Designer stores in Knightsbridge and Chelsea

In this part of London, also within close proximity of Chesham Court, you will find the top design houses. These include Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton, all in Sloane Street. Jimmy Choo, synonymous with couture made shoes and accessories, can also be found in the designer-clad street alongside Baby Dior so as not to forget about quality, handmade creations for the new member of the family.

Special attractions: The £30 million Medieval and Renaissance Galleries, which opened recently, unveils the biggest project undertaken since the museum’s British Galleries opened in 2001. The regenerated space dedicates ten galleries to the museum’s unique collection of masterpieces of medieval craftsmanship and an impressive collection of Italian Renaissance sculpture.

Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum is sure to impress even the most jaded of children. This ornate museum is home to more than 70 million specimens from across the natural world, including insects, fossils and rocks. The Dinosaur gallery is one of the most popular exhibits in the museum. Kids can also try their hand at becoming a scientist through hands-on educational tools, gallery trails and art activities, step inside a giant globe demonstrating the solar system or ‘experience’ an earthquake.

Science Museum

The Science Museum in South Kensington houses one of the most comprehensive collections looking at the development of science and industry, and it is all done in a fun and creative way. This museum is one of the most interactive in the city, with lots of hands-on exhibits. In the high-tech ‘Welcome Wing’, visitors can digitally change their faces to look older or younger, and manipulate their voices. Other popular features include a 450-seat IMAX theater and children always love the Science Night Sleepovers, which are held throughout the year.

Victoria & Albert (V&A) Museum

The museum was founded in 1852 to inspire and educate British designers & manufacturers. Today it is housing more than 4 million items spanning centuries and hundreds of cultures.

Hyde Park

Very close to our apartments is Hyde Park with its famous Speakers Corner. Visit on a Sunday and watch speakers delivering their views on virtually any topic under the sun. The park hosts numerous events in the summer, details of which are available on the website below.
